Today, not many people can say that they have sailed crossed an ocean on the water. A lot of people go by plane, but not very many sail. Of course it is a slow way of travel compared to airplanes, but it is not so much about speed. In a way it seems nonsense to even sail across an ocean. Something out dated, and unnecessary. But maybe that is exactly what it is about: it isnยดt necessary, and nobody ever questions the justification. Somehow I always end up picturing the absurd, grotesque sides of life, and on the other side the beauty, and magnificence. This picture is very much the last; nevertheless it is shot on board the 115 feet Sailing Yacht Sojana somewhere between Tenerife and Virgin Gorda, BVI. And that is a bit weird to think about.
